Xi urges middle eastern states to reshape regional security
Chinese president Xi Jinping visited Egypt and urged Middle Eastern countries to oppose external interference and explore a new regional security architecture, according to state media. In Cairo he offered cooperation to safeguard shipping routes after recent disruptions and agreed with President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi to deepen security cooperation, counterterrorism coordination and wider economic links. The joint statement cited plans to expand work on data centers, semiconductors and critical metals, increase currency use in trade, and expand Chinese investment in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, including a preliminary $500 million tyre complex study.
