India supplies more diesel to Europe as Russian flows fall
India has become a growing supplier of diesel to Europe as Russian exports remain depressed and US shipments weaken, according to Vortexa data. About 200,000 barrels per day of diesel and gasoil transited the Bab-el-Mandeb in August toward Europe, and India accounted for roughly 60% of that flow. India has large refining capacity and exported 61.5 million tonnes of petroleum products in 2025-26, but its crude imports fell to about 3.8 million barrels per day in August from 4.8 million a year earlier. Tighter crude availability could limit future exports and leave Europe with tighter diesel supplies.
