Iran and Oman have agreed the geographic coordinates for a shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, Iran's foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said, and a joint announcement is in its final stage provided certain third parties do not interfere. Baghaei warned that the bilateral agreement alone does not guarantee security in the strategic waterway. He also said there are no current plans for Iran's foreign minister or parliament speaker to travel to Pakistan or Qatar, though Iran is exchanging views with both.
