Turkish foreign minister meets Hamas political bureau chief

Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan met Khalil al-Hayya, elected head of Hamas's political bureau, in Ankara to discuss the latest situation in Gaza and the West Bank, ceasefire and peace negotiations, and inter-Palestinian reconciliation. Fidan congratulated al-Hayya, reiterated Turkey's commitment to defend the Palestinian cause on international platforms, and said all means are mobilized to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza while keeping alleged crimes and violations on the world agenda. Al-Hayya detailed humanitarian conditions and said Hamas maintains a constructive stance in negotiations, and the meeting also covered other regional issues.

Turkey pledged continued diplomatic and humanitarian support for Palestinians.
