Shipowners suspend inbound calls to Ukraine's Black Sea ports

As of 23 July, shipowners have suspended inbound vessel calls to Ukraine's Black Sea ports because of the threat of Russian attacks, agrarian policy minister Taras Vysotskyi told Latifundist. The state has not imposed restrictions; the decision came from shipowners after a sharp rise in risks. Maersk has already suspended its Black Sea service and some owners are cancelling bookings or reviewing freight agreements. Ukraine handled 42.4 million tonnes of cargo in the first half of 2026, but the Agrarian Association says about a third of grain export capacity through key Black Sea ports has been lost, which could affect export flows.
