OpenAI deepens cooperation with Samsung on chips and enterprise AI
OpenAI is expanding cooperation with Samsung Electronics on next-generation chips and enterprise AI services, citing joint production and research progress, OpenAI Korea general manager Harrison Kim said. The move aligns with recent steps such as OpenAI's June unveil of the Jalapeno inference chip (designed with Broadcom and slated for TSMC manufacturing) and letters of intent signed by Samsung and SK Hynix to supply memory for OpenAI's Stargate project. OpenAI also reported a roughly 28-fold rise in ChatGPT Enterprise users at South Korean organisations over a year, and expects faster adoption after the Sept. 4 launch of GPT-6 Astra.
