Chinese humanoid robots compete in Beijing games
Beijing staged the five-day World Humanoid Robot Games to pit humanoid machines in sports and scenario-based tests that mimic factories, restaurants, offices and emergencies. Organisers ran 51 events, including 30 sports and 21 scenario contests, and Huawei said more than 40 percent require full autonomy. Robots set new 100-metre and 400-metre times but exposed issues such as braking, battery management and thermal dissipation. Events include cable-connection, EV charging, restaurant work, emergency handling, assembly and material loading to evaluate vision, alignment, force control and post-sale industrial usefulness.
