Pakistan orders arrest of Afghan nationals without valid visas

Pakistan's Ministry of Interior has directed provincial and special area administrations, and the Islamabad Capital Territory, to arrest any Afghan national found in Pakistan without a valid visa effective July 10, 2026. The notification follows a June 1 review of the Illegal Foreigners' Repatriation Plan and orders expedited repatriation and deportation, including visa overstays. Deputy commissioners, district administrations, police and other law enforcement agencies were asked to ensure uniform implementation. Starting July 11, provinces must send daily reports to the ministry on numbers found without visas, actions taken and the individuals' present status.
