Actor Tim Curry dies at 80
Tim Curry, the Cheshire-born actor who won international recognition after starring in the stage production Rocky Horror and its film adaptation, has died at age 80. Curry trained in English and drama at the University of Birmingham and landed his first West End role in Hair in 1968, where he met Richard O'Brien, who wrote Dr Frank-N-Furter for him. He later earned three Tony nominations and appeared in films and TV including Annie, Clue, The Three Musketeers, Muppet Treasure Island and the 1990 miniseries It; a 2012 stroke left him partially paralyzed, but he continued to work and published a memoir last year.
