Nigeria disqualifies textbooks scoring below 70 percent
The federal government, acting on the first national textbook assessment by NERDC, said textbooks scoring below 70 percent will not qualify for the national ranked list after some books scored as low as 25 percent. Minister of Education Tunji Alausa and NERDC officials said the new rule follows a standardised assessment toolkit that weighted curriculum alignment at 51 percent and used peer review. Publishers may revise and resubmit materials, and assessments will run in three cycles while the national curriculum will be reviewed every three years.
