The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, alleging the district's guidance allowed students to exclude parents from planning meetings and to keep transgender or gender non-conforming status secret, which DOJ says violates the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.
