China tops PISA 2025 maths while India is absent
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development released PISA 2025 results for 15-year-olds across 91 countries and economies, based on more than 7.6 lakh participating students. The Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang group of China led maths with 612 points and Singapore scored 563, while the OECD average was 463. India did not take part in 2025 and therefore has no PISA maths score or rank. The results show a 22-point decline in average OECD maths performance since 2015, equivalent to about one year of learning, offering global benchmarks for education systems.
