Man arrested for allegedly scamming women using fake 49ers identity
Federal investigators arrested Daejon Love and alleged co-conspirator Taylor Jamie Chan on wire fraud and conspiracy charges after prosecutors say they conned at least 26 people of about $1.3 million by posing as an NFL player and using fake bank accounts, social media deception and dating-app contact. The FBI said it identified 35 additional potential victims and warned there may be more. Investigators allege Love used Fake Bank Account Pro, social media clips and video, and asked victims to send money via Apple Pay, Zelle and Venmo while Chan posed as a financial adviser.
