Amazon seeks investors to finance $8 billion of Nvidia chips
Amazon is seeking external investors for a financing plan covering about $8 billion of advanced Nvidia Grace Blackwell chips, the Financial Times reported. The proposal would place thousands of chips into a special purpose vehicle that would raise funds through debt issuance and then lease the chips back to Amazon for use in US data centres. Amazon would offer external investors up to 10% equity in the vehicle and would not keep an equity stake itself. The structure aims to move some financing off Amazon's balance sheet as the company plans more than $200 billion of capital expenditure this year.
