Two tankers carry Saudi crude through Bab el-Mandeb
Two oil tankers, Lesvos and Desh Vaibhav, crossed the Bab el-Mandeb Strait over the weekend despite a Houthi-declared maritime embargo and heightened security risks. Kpler data showed both vessels had their Automatic Identification System tracking switched off and together carried about three million barrels of Saudi crude; Desh Vaibhav is heading to India's Sikka port while Lesvos' destination is unclear. Shipping through the waterway fell, with commodity traffic dropping to 18 vessels on Sunday from 28 on Friday, and crossings through the Strait of Hormuz also slowed after reports of multiple tanker attacks.
