Iran warns it may abandon deal with US

Iran warned it would stop following a Pakistan-mediated agreement with the United States that aims to end the Middle East war if Washington's alleged violations continue, state TV reported. Tehran's UN ambassador told state broadcaster IRIB that "if the United States continues to violate its obligations under the Islamabad Understanding, Iran will no longer consider itself bound by its commitments." The statement raises the prospect that the Islamabad Understanding could break down, weakening a diplomatic path to halt the conflict and complicating international efforts led through Pakistan and the UN.
