Kazakhstan builds full-stack AI ecosystem
Kazakhstan outlined plans to build a comprehensive AI ecosystem covering computing, data centres, connectivity, satellites and digital public services, aiming to draw international investment and talent. Officials said the Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz targets at least 1 GW of capacity, with preliminary interest from more than 20 hyperscale firms and demand exceeding 100 MW. The government plans to connect over 50 percent of villages with fibre in 18 months to two years, expand satellite internet, scale domestic satellite manufacturing and exports, and create a regulated crypto licensing framework, positioning Kazakhstan as a regional AI and infrastructure hub.
