CScale raises $188 million for optical data center interconnects
CScale Inc. launched with $188 million in funding, most raised in a recently closed Series C co-led by Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners and Premji Invest, with participation from Nvidia and Intel Capital. Founded in 2023 by Sanjai Kohli with Martin Lund as CEO, the company develops optical interconnect hardware designed to link thousands of accelerators across dozens of racks and to enable larger scale-up AI clusters. CScale says its optics can contain failures and will ship as an integrated light engine system-on-chip with an onboard CPU; the company will use the funds to refine technology and accelerate commercialization.
