China investigates Palo Alto Networks products

Beijing's Cyberspace Administration has launched a formal review of products sold in China by US cybersecurity and cloud computing firm Palo Alto Networks. The administration said the review aims to ensure the secure and stable operation of critical information infrastructure, prevent cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities, and safeguard national security. The announcement puts Palo Alto's China-sold products under regulatory scrutiny and could prompt closer technical checks, compliance requirements, or operational changes for Chinese customers that use those products. The immediate consequence is heightened oversight of a major foreign technology vendor in China.
