Arsenal drops Emirates stadium expansion plan
Arsenal has shelved plans for a large expansion of the Emirates Stadium after a 2024 feasibility review led by chief executive Richard Garlick, instead choosing incremental improvements to hospitality, retail, visitor facilities and the matchday experience. The decision avoids the disruption of a temporary move to Wembley and follows the club's recent surge in matchday income to more than £150m a season. Owner Kroenke Sports & Entertainment has engaged Boston Consulting Group to review parts of the club's non-football operations, a review that is ongoing and not currently linked to confirmed job losses among roughly 800 staff.
