Leaders and UN chief to attend SCO summit in Bishkek
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov will chair the SCO heads of state meeting and an SCO Plus summit in Bishkek on September 1, 2026, with leaders from 17 countries and the UN secretary-general expected to attend. Named participants include presidents and prime ministers from China, Russia, India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and multiple Central Asian states, plus representatives of regional organizations. Delegates will discuss international and regional issues, future SCO priorities and expanded cooperation in political, trade, transport, digital, environmental and humanitarian fields, and are expected to sign a Bishkek Declaration marking the SCO's 25th anniversary.
