1 min read
The University of Oxford has started the first human trial of a vaccine against Bundibugyo ebolavirus, called BD-Ebov, to help accelerate efforts during an outbreak affecting the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The trial will evaluate safety and immune response to the ChAdOx1 BDBV vaccine in 50 healthy adults aged 18 to 55 in Oxford. As an early-stage study, results will be preliminary but could inform further vaccine development and outbreak response planning if safety and immune signals are observed.
Oxford began a 50-person trial of a Bundibugyo vaccine.
