Colorado warns dispensaries of methylene chloride in marijuana vapes
Colorado regulators warned that marijuana vapes sold at 405 dispensaries were contaminated with methylene chloride, a solvent the EPA has sought to ban because it can cause cancer, and advised the products should not be consumed. The advisory followed reporting that state implementation of expanded testing protocols that would detect such solvents was delayed and that Pueblo County-based StayCon, doing business as Craft, issued a voluntary recall after a third-party lab detected contamination and notified the company and the state six weeks before the recall. Expanded testing protocols will begin at the end of this month.
