NAFDAC recruits 600 pharmacists for volunteer reserve
NAFDAC has assembled a national Pharmacists Reserve Volunteer Programme of 600 qualified pharmacists drawn from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to strengthen medicines regulation and combat fake or substandard drugs. The volunteers were selected through a transparent process balancing merit, availability and geographic representation and will support pharmacovigilance, compliance monitoring, quality assurance, data collection and public sensitisation against drug abuse. The agency said volunteers must show availability, discipline, integrity and confidentiality and can be mobilized quickly for product recalls, suspected circulation of falsified medicines or emergency assignments in hard-to-reach communities.
