TRCN endorses Federal Government accelerated teacher professionalisation pathway
The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria has endorsed the Federal Government's Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway, a six-month programme aimed at more than 250,000 serving but unqualified teachers. The ATPP uses cohorts and combines four months of blended learning with two months of supervised teaching practice, and offers PGDE and PDE qualification routes. Successful candidates will sit the TRCN Professional Qualifying Examination and be registered and licensed; certification and licensing costs are covered by the programme fee. Implementation is led by the Ministry of Education and coordinated with NTI, UBEC, NSSEC, NERDC and NCCE.
