Nigeria pledges support to trainers to build oil and gas workforce
Nigeria is positioning itself to develop a world-class oil and gas workforce as investor confidence rises and many projects move toward final investment decisions. Minister Heineken Lokpobiri pledged government support for the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN) and said backing will be channelled through the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board and the NOGICD Act. The government urged retraining of lecturers and trainers to meet modern, AI-driven industry standards and encouraged OGTAN to expand training across Africa, noting regional demand from countries such as Angola, Congo and Gabon.
