The Education Department's relaunched reporting portal shows Harvard accepted nearly $4.5 billion from foreign sources over 7,089 transactions, with about $634 million coming from countries of concern. Data cited by Sen. Tom Cotton say Harvard received more than $630 million from Chinese entities, including roughly $418,000 tied to foreign talent programs and nearly $420,000 linked to alleged military-related actors; Venezuela and Russia also contributed millions. The portal also shows U.S. universities took over $6.8 billion from Chinese sources, including more than $300 million from sanctioned entities, prompting calls for investigations and tighter oversight.
