Federal government commits N10.5 billion to digital training academy
The federal government has committed more than N10.5 billion to launch a Digital Training Academy that will enrol 32,000 Nigerians and award 32,000 certificates across more than ten digital skill areas. Implemented under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative, the programme offers free access to global platforms including Coursera and Pluralsight and covers AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, fintech and other fields. The government set up access centres for those without reliable internet or computers and tied the academy to other initiatives like 3MTT and NATEP to connect learning and certification to employment and international opportunities.
