Philippine bank deposits rise nearly ₱22.1 trillion in Q1
Philippine bank deposits reached ₱22.04 trillion at end-March 2026, up ₱1.97 trillion or 9.8 percent from a year earlier, the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) reported. The acceleration followed the March 15, 2025 doubling of maximum deposit insurance to ₱1 million. Individual deposits rose by ₱913.9 billion and private corporate deposits by ₱606.6 billion, while time deposits led growth with a ₱896.1 billion increase. Demand/NOW and savings added ₱589.6 billion and ₱483.2 billion. Deposit accounts climbed to 178.6 million, with fully insured accounts covering 98.8 percent.
Total deposits rose ₱1.97 trillion year on year.
