Hyperscale Data borrows $30 million using bitcoin-backed loan
6 min read

Hyperscale Data said it implemented a bitcoin-backed decentralized finance lending strategy through the Morpho Protocol and had approximately $30 million outstanding under those borrowings as of August 2, 2026. The loans are secured by a portion of the company's bitcoin treasury, bear a current variable interest rate of roughly 4.9%, and will fund the Michigan AI data center build under a master services agreement, plus working capital. The company says this approach preserves long-term bitcoin exposure, enhances financial flexibility, may reduce reliance on dilutive equity, and that it will evaluate additional bitcoin-backed financing opportunities.
