Kenya puts academic records on blockchain for verification

Kenya's National Examinations Council and Avalanche have launched a blockchain-based verification platform that places over 30 million academic records on the Avalanche network to tackle thousands of forged certificates reported each year. The system allows employers, universities and other institutions to verify credentials onchain, which the partners say makes records harder to tamper with. The platform is live, though neither KNEC nor Avalanche disclosed adoption figures. For Avalanche, the deployment is among its largest public-sector uses and extends the blockchain beyond decentralized finance, while the announcement did not clarify AVAX demand effects.
