Anchorage Digital integrates LayerZero for cross-chain stablecoins
Anchorage Digital has partnered with LayerZero to embed cross-chain infrastructure into its regulated stablecoin issuance stack using the Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. Tether's USAT, issued through Anchorage Digital Bank, is the first token to adopt the LayerZero OFT standard and go live under the arrangement. LayerZero supports connectivity across more than 170 blockchain networks, which gives issuers a unified technical model for moving supply without creating separate isolated versions. Anchorage says other stablecoins, including Western Union's USDPT and OSL's USDGO, are expected to join later, though not every token is live on every chain today.

Context
Stablecoin fragmentation has created practical problems across chains. Issuers now prefer native cross-chain distribution. Anchorage plans to add more tokens and expand chain availability over time.
