Police arrest 139 after violent Suleja rally
Niger State police said they detained 139 suspects following a violent rally in Suleja and subsequent sting operations at multiple hideouts in Madalla, Kwata, Bakin-Ruwa and other locations. Investigators identified 64 suspects who were charged with offences including armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and possession of dangerous weapons; those charged were arraigned and remanded. Separate operations in Minna produced eight arrests, plus two alleged military impersonators and one suspect accused of receiving stolen phones. Police recovered weapons, cannabis and four live cartridges and said investigations remain ongoing ahead of prosecutions.
