Petrobras finds new oil interval at Morpho well offshore Amapá
Petrobras reported a new oil-bearing interval at the Morpho exploration well (1-BRSA-1405-APS) in the ultra-deepwater FZA-M-59 block offshore Amapá at about 2,886 meters. The find follows an initial discovery announced in August 2026 and was identified using electrical well logs, rock sample indications and fluid samples. Laboratory analysis of the latest samples is ongoing, and prior testing confirmed good-quality oil in the earlier interval. Petrobras will complete drilling and further evaluate the formations before any commercial assessment, with the result feeding its longer-term reserve replacement strategy beyond pre-salt fields.
