Renault and Geely boost Brazil investment by 2bn reais
Renault and Chinese partner Geely pledged an additional 2bn reais to their Brazilian joint venture, raising total committed investment to 5.8bn reais through 2027. The funding will support production of an electrified Renault model on the GEA (Global Intelligent Electric Architecture) platform, with manufacturing scheduled to start in 2027, and will back local production of Renault's Hybrid E-Tech 4×4 flex-fuel technology from 2027. Geely's all-electric EX2 hatchback will enter production in December 2026 at the Ayrton Senna Industrial Complex, which was upgraded earlier in 2026 and comprises two plants with around 5,000 employees.
