Micron to build $10 billion U.S. research hub for AI memory
Micron Technology said it will create Micron Research Labs, a long-term research hub headquartered in Boise, Idaho, with a planned $10 billion investment over the next decade and construction set to begin in 2027. The lab will pursue work beyond current product roadmaps across memory technologies, advanced memory and compute architectures, packaging and future semiconductor manufacturing, and it will link to Micron operations in the U.S., Europe, Japan, India, Singapore and Taiwan. The initiative includes university collaborations, satellite labs and industry partners such as Nvidia and imec, and aims to move fundamental research toward commercial technologies.
