Golar signs EPC deal for fourth FLNG vessel
Golar LNG has signed an engineering, procurement and construction agreement with Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore to build its fourth floating LNG production vessel under a roughly $2.45 billion delivered-to-site budget. The FLNG will offer 3.5 million tonnes per annum liquefaction and is due from the shipyard by year-end 2029; a donor vessel has been secured. Black & Veatch will supply licensed PRICO liquefaction technology, detailed engineering and topside procurement and commissioning support. The order increases Golar's controlled liquefaction capacity by about 40% to above 12 million tonnes per year, and the company is pursuing a long-term charter with advanced commercial discussions underway.
Golar ordered a 3.5 Mtpa FLNG for $2.45 billion.
Context
Golar previously ordered the MKII design and is building FLNG Esperanza with CIMC Raffles. This repeat order follows that work. Golar now looks for a long-term charter and commercial talks are in progress.
