EU pact attracts institutional investors to innovation funds
The European Commission and the European Investment Bank Group co-created the European Institutional Investors Pact, a voluntary framework designed to direct more institutional investment into EU-based funds that back tech start-ups and scale-ups. Thirteen institutional investors have expressed intent to invest via existing funds including the European Tech Champions Initiative 2.0, the Scaleup Europe Fund, and schemes supported under InvestEU. The pact includes a Commission-led policy dialogue forum and an EIB Group investment platform to improve investor access. As part of the EU startup and scaleup strategy, the move aims to unlock long-term capital and help companies scale and stay within the bloc.
