FAA certifies Boeing 737 Max 7

The Federal Aviation Administration has certified Boeing's 737 Max 7 after almost a decade of review and 441 test flights totaling 686 hours, clearing the way for Boeing to ready deliveries to launch customer Southwest Airlines. The approval comes after two fatal Max crashes tied to the flawed MCAS anti-stall system, a 2024 fuselage panel blowout, Capitol Hill scrutiny, prosecutions alleging Boeing misled regulators, and 2020 rules mandating new angle of attack sensors for over 2,300 Max jets. Boeing is increasing Max production toward 52 planes per month and is close to 737 Max 10 and 777X certification work.
