Ukrainian forces sink Russian container ship Yanina and hit refineries

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on X that Ukrainian forces sank the sanctioned Russian container ship Yanina after it was hit; the vessel sailed under the Russian flag and had a capacity of more than 100,000 tonnes. Ukrainian forces also struck targets in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Separately, units of the Security Service of Ukraine attacked infrastructure at three oil refineries in Bashkortostan, about 1,600 kilometres from Ukraine, and Zelenskyy said those refineries process millions of tonnes of oil annually. The incidents could affect Russian shipping and refining capacity in the near term.
