Azerbaijan hosts fourth UN climate week in Baku
The first day of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change fourth Climate Week concluded in Baku, where officials and international participants discussed implementation of climate decisions ahead of COP31. Azerbaijani leaders warned about the declining Caspian Sea and stressed regional dialogue, while energy ministers outlined targets including a roughly sixfold rise in wind output and a more than 26 percent increase in solar output this year. Azerbaijan presented feasibility work on a 3,900 MW Caspian-Black Sea-Europe green energy corridor and said two green corridors aim to start operation from 2032, linking regional markets and reducing emissions.
