Qatar says mediators coordinate to facilitate US-Iran talks

Qatar said mediators are coordinating closely to help restart negotiations between the United States and Iran, including the exchange of draft proposals, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari. Doha said it seeks a return to normal conditions in the Strait of Hormuz and that resumption of talks will require a ceasefire and guarantees for reopening the strait. Qatar praised Pakistan and Oman’s mediation, and specifically highlighted Muscat’s recent role. Officials gave no clear timeline but expressed hope an agreement could be reached as soon as possible, leaving near-term uncertainty.
