Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye call emergency SPDC meeting
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have agreed to convene an emergency Strategic Political and Defence Committee meeting in Riyadh next week to assess escalating attacks attributed by Saudi Arabia to Yemen's Houthis, including a recent strike on a power facility in Madinah. The session follows August and September steps to institutionalise the Makkah joint defence agreement, including foreign minister and military chiefs' meetings and the creation of a Riyadh-based secretariat headed by retired lieutenant general Nauman Mahmood. Ministers will review threats, intelligence sharing and whether political engagement with armed groups could replace military measures.
