Iran says it is exchanging messages with United States
Azeri - Press Informasiya Agentliyi
Iran said it and the United States are exchanging messages, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told Fars News Agency. Baghaei said Iran's priority is to safeguard sovereignty and territorial integrity and to protect its people from war crimes. He accused diplomacy of being betrayed for a third time, saying on two earlier occasions the United States and Israel attacked while negotiations were underway. Baghaei described the U.S. attacks as a flagrant violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Those claims could deepen mistrust and complicate any ongoing or future diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington.
