AWS expands Saudi region, adds 50 MW AI Zone capacity
Amazon Web Services and HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund-owned company, expanded a strategic collaboration that includes up to 50 megawatts of capacity in Saudi Arabia's first AI Zone by 2028, plus a new AWS region that raises the global count to 40 regions and reflects more than $5.3 billion in planned cloud infrastructure investment. The capacity will include AWS Trainium chips and NVIDIA AI infrastructure, and HUMAIN's ALLAM Arabic large language model will be available via Amazon Bedrock while HUMAIN Fabric will appear on AWS Marketplace. The move aims to accelerate AI workloads, training programs and Vision 2030 goals.
