Itauma to fight Hrgovic for vacant IBF heavyweight title

2 min read

British heavyweight Moses Itauma, 21, will meet Filip Hrgovic on 29 August at London's O2 Arena with the vacant IBF heavyweight title at stake after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt in June. Promoter Frank Warren confirmed the matchup and praised Itauma, who has 12 knockouts in 14 professional victories and recent stoppage wins over Jermaine Franklin and Dillian Whyte. Hrgovic, a 2016 Olympic bronze medallist with 20 professional wins, beat Dave Allen in May. Frank Sanchez agreed to step aside for payment and is guaranteed a title fight against the eventual winner.

The winner on 29 August will claim the vacant IBF heavyweight title.
