Dutch FA withdraws confidence in FIFA president
The Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) said it no longer has confidence in FIFA president Gianni Infantino following backlash over his plan to sell stakes in a company to run the World Cup and the handling of the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal. UEFA and several of its major members have voiced opposition, and the KNVB — which previously supported Infantino — cited concentrated presidential power, insufficient separation between the president and administration, and unmet calls for better governance, human rights and sustainability. The KNVB offered to host an international summit in Amsterdam and wants governance changes before the 2027 election.
