Sophie Adenot will perform first spacewalk by a French woman
Two astronauts will conduct a spacewalk at about 8:35 a.m. ET on Aug. 18, when NASA’s Anil Menon and ESA’s Sophie Adenot will exit the International Space Station to replace an old high-speed antenna on the outpost’s truss. The operation, expected to last less than seven hours, will be Menon’s second spacewalk in a row and Adenot’s first, making her the first French woman to perform an EVA and the fifth French astronaut to do so. NASA will stream live coverage starting at 7 a.m. ET on NASA+, Amazon Prime and YouTube.
