Student movement files candidates for Serbian parliament

After nearly two years of anti-corruption protests that began after the Novi Sad canopy collapse in November 2024, Serbia's student movement submitted a 250-candidate list, Students' List -- Students Win, for the October 25 snap parliamentary vote; the electoral commission certified 69,099 signatures. The list is led by cardiologist and professor Ilija Srdanović and includes doctors, professors, athletes and activists. Their 11-point programme stresses institutional reforms such as judicial independence, procurement transparency and audits, but it offers limited detail on foreign policy and faces questions about governing experience and coalition cohesion if it wins seats.

Students submitted 250 candidates with 69,099 certified signatures.
