U2 named 2027 MusiCares persons of the year
Irish rock band U2 will be honored as the 2027 MusiCares Persons of the Year at a charity gala on Feb. 5, 2027, at the 7,100-capacity Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, two nights before the Grammy Awards. The band becomes the fourth group ever to receive the honor and Bono is the first person honored both individually and as part of a group. MusiCares says proceeds from the Lewis & Clark-produced event will support its health, mental wellness, addiction recovery and emergency financial assistance programs, and individual theater seating will open the tribute concert to a broader public.
